(James is absent today. His mother Evelyn called me at 6:00am telling me that John has a high fever. She will not sell candles because she has to watch over John.)

Report

We started at exactly 10:30am. Dorothy and Rachel lead the prayer. They performed an action prayer song. Everybody performed “The Chicken Dance” as their exercise with Lily and Fortune as the leaders. I was doing the exercise too at the back.

Today is their schedule of film showing. Everybody was shouting that they want to watch a horror movie! I told them if it is okey with them to watch a horror movie all by themselves and Mr. Kazu, M. B who is helping me today and I will leave them. Everybody chorused “Yes”. There was this news last week that 15 children were possessed by demons in their school in Buanoy, Balamban. After that incident, children are recalling what they have heard before especially in Tejero Elementary School. There were ghost stories that everybody was very excited to share them to me. But I told them that Mr. Kazu, Mam Chang and the directors are the ones who choose the film to watch. So I played the “Toy Story 2”. I switched off the light and the children began to love the show from beginning to end. In the middle of the show, I served them popcorn in a big bowl and everyone was sharing the popcorn. Just like they are in a moviehouse. Around 12:00 noon, a Japanese guest arrived bringing gifts to the children. I let them finish the movie and around 12:15, they are delighted to hear from our guest what’s their gifts. Since it was their snack time, we set up the tables. It was then that I let our guest introduce himself. His name is Mr. Tomo. Our scholars bombarded him with so many questions. He explained that he can speak only a little English. But the kids are staring at the plastic bags. When it was turned over to me, I distributed to them right away while they were eating their hamburger and juice. We serve also snacks to our guest, Mr. Tomo and his girl friend and they ate them up. Our guest gave them stationery set(composed of colored pencils, pencils, sharpener, glue, scissors, and pencil box. It has a Ben 10character print for boys, for girls, Sponged Bob and Dora print, for 16 children and 4 calculators for the high school students. And also they brought cakes individually pack from Goldilocks. Everybody was very happy.  They then washed their plates and tumblers, brushed their teeth.

We then had our picture taking with our guest. I thanked Mr. Tomo for the wonderful gifts for the children. I told him that they will take good care of them because it is very useful in school. We sat on the floor with Mr. Kazu and our guests, holding hands and sang the “Our Father” prayer as our closing prayer. It was 12:50pm  already when the session ended. I bade the children goodbye. Our guest also left the office after the session. Anna and Rachel with Fortune stayed a little longer to make their assignments and afterwards at 1:00 pm they all went home.

3rd  Session – High School

Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Attendance: Chloe, Kayla and Ashley.

(Chloe was the earliest to arrive. She arrived at 12:45pm. Kayla arrived at 1:15 so we started the session with only the two of  them.

It was also their schedule of film showing so I played the film “E.T.” After 10 minutes, Ashley arrived at 1:25pm. She was able to catch up the show. She asks questions from Kaylaand Chloe. They told her the show just started. They were thrilled with the story because all of them have not seen this movie yet. The story was about an alien being left by his spaceship because he wandered so far that when the leader called their attention that it was time to leave Earth, he wasn’t to catch up. There are also humans chasing him because they noticed  their spaceship. The movie was very long. In the middle I have to serve them their snacks “Hamburger and juice” while watching. Afterwards, I cook them  popcorn. The movie lasted for 1 hour and 59 minutes! The movie ended at 3:15pm, so I distributed their calculators and snacks from Goldilocks.

Kayla washed the plates and tumblers while Ashley was busy checking on her new calculator. Chloe, on the other hand was using the laptop to search some goddesses as one of  her assignments. She asked permission because she has no money to pay in the internet shop. At 3:40pm, we left the office. Everyone was happy because they received a gift from our guest. According to them, they were the most  useful gift . They were happy that they will never borrow from their neighbors again.

Children’s Activities July 22, 2012

1st Session – Grades 2 & 3

Time: 8:30am – 10:00am

Attendance: 1) Eric, 2) Gabriel 4) Sarah 5)Honey Laramae Montecillo

I let Shyla lead the prayer “Our Father” as our opening prayer.

We have three Japanese guests today namely Ms. Eiko, Ms. Hika and Ms. Lou. The children greeted them shyly. Ms. Lou introduced herself first. Children ask Ms. Lou personal questions like how many are you in the family, the ages of her elder sister and father and mother, their names and what university she goes to school. Ms. Lou was eager to answer them all. It was Edward who has many questions. Genesis also is participating with Shyla and Deldrics. Honey was very meek. She just listens and has no questions at all. It was Ms. Hika's turn to introduce herself. Again everyone ask personal questions. She was asked what is her talent and she said she loves listening to music but doesn't have a favorite foreign song. She asked the children to teach her. Genesis, Deldrics and Edward show their talent in singing. They sang an action song "Ang Balay ko sa Langit". Then it was the girls' turn to render their song "Chikading". The song ia about 5 birds that are sitting in the tree, 1 flew away how many are left and they flap their arms singing chikading chikading and so on and so forth until none was left. Then Ms. Hika and Ms. Lou prepared some games with the children. They teach the children to shake hands and decide using their palm for paper, scissors and rock. Here we call it Bato, Bato, Pick! of Jack en Poy. If you decide for rock (clinched fist) and your partner displayed open palm, paper, the one who is rock opens his feet wide because he loses until he cannot open wide enough he loses in the game. The next game was like a Sumo wrestling. Both their feet is together in a square and they should push each other using their hands. The one who will loss his balance will lose the game. Next was touching the opposite knee of the partner. If a player touches the knee of his partner, he wins. The last one was they sit on the floor hands at the back and they push their feet at each other until the one is pushed away, loses the game. Eveybody enjoyed the game. Then we proceed with sand art. I gave the children a train sticker, included are the colored sand and toothpick. There is also a picture of the colored train that they will copy. Only the red sand was being used on the sticker because it was almost time for their snacks. I let them finish as their assignment. At exactly 9:40 am Arroz Caldo(lugaw with chicken and carrots) was served to the children. I distributed also to the children the rice cookies given by our guests.  They ate them all except Honey. She is the slowest during eating tiime. Afterwards they washed their bowls and plates and tumblers, brushed their teeth and Edward lead the closing prayer "Angel of God".  At exactly 10:00am the children went home.

At this time many children were coming in and blessing the hands of everybody like our guests including me and Mr. Kazu. Lou was asking if what is that gesture? I explained to her that is our Filipino tradition to bless the hands of our elders when we arrive and leave the office as a sign of respect for the elders.

I thanked C.G and J.B who helped me prepare their snacks.

2nd  Session – Grades 4 to 6

Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm

Attendance: Ava, Jack, Fortune, Dorothy, Rachel, Anna , Lily, Nicole Mamogay, Charles, Mike

(James is absent today. I called her mother Evelyn that they are looking for a house to transfer because there is no current in their present house they live. They didn't sell candles in Sto Nino.)

Report

We started at exactly 10:30am. Rachel and Anna  lead the prayer. They performed an action prayer song, "You are My All in All" . Everybody performed the Maru Maru Mori Mori as their exercise including Ms. Lou and Ms. Hika as their leaders.

The children greeted our Japanese guests Ms. Eiko, Ms Hika and Ms. Lou. They introduced themselves to the children and answered their questions the childrern ask them. They let them show off their talent. Both sang their Japanese National Anthem. I love the melody because it sounds like a lullabye. In return, the children sang our national anthem, "Lupang Hinirang". Ms. Lou knew how to sang the Lupang Hinirang lyrics and the children and I were astonished.

Our topic for today was about Respectfulness. I let the children form 3 groups. Each group will perform the acts of being respectful to others. I gave them 15 minutes to come up with a presentation. First group to present was the group composed of Ava, Fortune, Anna and  Dorothy. Ava represents the car on the street, the old woman crossing the street was donna, Anna and Fortunr were playing on the streets. When the children saw the car approaching when the old woman was about to cross the street, they stopped playing then they helped the old woman cross the street. The old woman thanked them. The next to perform were the boys namely Charles, Mike and James. Charles and Mike were playing basketball until they got irked with each other. Jack approached them and told them not to fight because they are just playing. They show their respect by shaking their hands, forget their differences and make up. The next group is composed of  Rachel, Lily and Nikky. Lily is the mother of Rachel and Nikky. She went home from the market. When Rachel saw her mother, she blessed her hand and carried the basket of her mother to the house. Nikky was asked where is her mother's celphone and she said it is mine and argued to her mother. She was displaying disrespect to her mother by not telling the truth and arguing with her mother while Rachel showed sign of respect because she blessed her mother's hand and helped her bring the basket. We all clapped hands for their performances that they all really understand being respectful.

Ms. Lou then introduce the game "Who am I?". All the children have animal names at their back. They haven't seen what animal name was put on their back. They can ask from their co-scholars what is the color of the animal, and all the characteristics like what sound does it make. Once they know "who they are?" they go to Ate lou and she will give her animal sticker as their prize. It was Nikky who is a fox and Ava who is a chicken were the last ones to guess! Next game was "Trip to Jerusalem"  9 empty chairs were put on the center of the room while 10 children dance around the chairs in clockwise direction. Maru Maru music was played and when the music stops, the children they sits on the empty chair. The one who doesn't sit properly or was left standing because all the chairs are occupied, he is out of the game. Then a chair is taken, everytime the music stops. it was Anna who won this game because she is very wise and alert. She received a prize. Everydbody enjoyed the games. At 11:45, their snacks "Arroz Caldo" was served. they loved the taste. Mr. Kazu, Ms. Lou and Ms. Hika ate Arroz Caldo as their lunch as well. They were very "busog" eating the lugaw. I then distributed the rice cookies brought by our guest. Everybody received 3 kinds of cookies. The children then washed their bowls, plates and tumblers and brushed their teeth. For our closing prayer, we make a big circle and we sit on the floor, holding hands, we sing the "Amahan Namo" prayer. At 12:15, I bade the children goodbye but they all stayed until 12:55pm playing volleyball, and badminton with our guests and their co-scholars.

3rd  Session – High School

Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Attendance: Ashley, Andrew and Kayla.

(Chloe came in the office at 9:30am because she asked permission from Mr.Kazu that she will be absent from the afternoon session class because she has to attend to a very important matter.)

We started at 1:00pm. The children started their afternoon greetings with our guests. Ashley introduced herself first to our guest. Next was Kayla and last was Andrew. Again, Ms. Lou and Ms. Hika introduced themselves to the children.

Our topic was about "Respectful". I let Ashley read the page. I ask all the children if they are being respectful to their mothers, grandmothers or to their fathers as well. everyone shared their experiences being respectful to their mothers and grandmothers. They bless them when they come home from school. They help them even without being told. They don't shout at their elders.

Ms. Hika has a deck of playing cards. She taught the children 3, 2, 1 pass. We call it 1, 2, 3 pass. Each player should have 4 cards each. When they open their cards, they have to collect same numbers and they pass to the left player their unwanted card until they will form 4 same number. The first to complete will then grab a thing in front and the rest will also grab a something. The person who has nothing to grab is the loser. The next game was called "Monkey Monkey" or in our dialect "Unggoy Unggoy". A joker card was set aside. the 51 cards are all distributed to all players. When all the cards are distributed, each player should pair and take out from the set of cards in their hands. All cards left on their hands should have no pair. then, each player would get a card from the left player and check them if there is a pair in their possession until all the cards have pairs. They take turns in picking cards from the player on the left side. The card with the joker left with the players is the loser (or we call it Unggoy or monkey). It was Ms. Hika who is the monkey. I suggested the next card game. It is called Memory game. All the 52 cards are scattered on the floor face down. Each player take turns opening 2 cards. If a player opens the same number, he will pair them and be taken out from the floor and be put aside for counting later. If not, they should put  again face down the card. The players should remember where is the location of the cards that he remebered so that when he opens the same number, he can pair them later. The most number of pairs when all the cards have been paired off wins the game. This time Kayla won the memory game. The children enjoyed the games. Their snacks was then served at 2:35pm, Arroz caldo. They loved to eat the lugaw. Kayla and Ashley was comparing their bulging stomachs. Ashley washed the bowls and tumblers while Kayla and Andrew brushed their teeth. While waiting for Ashley, Andrew and Kayla were playing volleyball outside the office. When Ashley was finished,  Kayla led the closing prayer "Glory Be To The Father".

At exactly 3:00pm we proceeded to Kayla's house for a visit. We all walked from the office to their house. It took us about 25 minutes to reach their place.

Time: 8:30am – 10:00am

Attendance: 1) Eric, 2) Gabriel, 3)Daniel, and 4)Hanna

(Sarah is still absent because she is still recuperating from her operation on Hernia.

I let Hanna lead the prayer “Our Father” as our opening prayer.

First I check the fingernails and toenails of the children. All of their fingernails are clean. Only Hanna has clean toenails. I told them next time their toes will be brushed so that they will be cleaned.

I bought a book entitled “Designed by God so I must be Special”. Hanna read about the the eyes that God gave us. I asked Hanna if she understands what she is reading. She said “yes”. I explained to them each and every sentence what it means. Although they know how to read, the boys didn’t understand what they are reading. Next to read was Eric. Eric read about the ears that God gave us. He reads so slow and doesn’t know the pronunciation yet. I helped him pronounced the words correctly.  It was Daniel turn to read. He read about the nose that God gave us. Daniel reads with his fingers pointing at the words on the book. Last was Gabriel, he read about the skin that God gave us. He can read but in a stammering voice. He was very eager to learn about the story that we are reading. Then back to Hanna, she read about the body that God gave us. Then Eric read about the mind that God gave us. Daniel read about our hearts that God gave us. Lastly, Gabriel read about the spirit that God gave us. They were all happy to hear the story. I then let them copy the story in their notebooks. Everyone was eager to write them. Gabriel was the first to finish, second was Daniel, 3rd was Hanna and last was Eric. Afterwards, they have their snacks footlong hotdog in a bun.

I let Eric lead the closing prayer. I thanked  A. M and J.B who helped me prepare their snacks.

At 10:00 the class was dismissed.

2nd  Session – Grades 4 to 6

Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm

Attendance: Jack, Fortune, Dorothy, Rachel, Anna, Lily, Nikky, Charles, James, Mike, Ava,

Report

We started at exactly 10:30am. Dorothy, and Anna lead the prayer. They performed an action prayer song.

James, Jack, Mike and Charles volunteered to lead the exercise which is “Follow the Leader”. Everyone enjoyed the exercise.

The children had their greetings. We have a guest her name is Shitomi. They greeted Mam Shitomi. She was delighted to see the children and observed the whole activity of the 2nd session. Then, I inspected the childrens’ fingernails and toenails. Everyone has clean  fingernails. Only few have dirty toenails. According to Dorothy, her toenails indeed are very clean after brushing them with a used toothbrush.

Our topic for today was about Honesty. It was Anna who red the paragraph first. Aanna is a good reader. She pronounces the words well. James shared his experience about being honest. One time there was a man who pass by riding his tricycle and dropped his money. When James saw the money, he pick it up and ride on his cousin's bike to give the money back to his rightful owner. Because of his honesty, he was given a reward by the man. According to Fortune, sometimes she doesn't want to tell the truth so that her mother will not scold her. Dorothy and Lily agreed. I told them those are "white lies" but I encouraged them to always tell the truth because our mothers will always undertand us if we tell the truth. I told them also to be open to their mothers whatever problems they encounter. Everybody loves their mother that they don't want them to get angry. I was telling them also that it is not good to steal. And gave them examples like, when I see coins or money on the street, I give them in the church. Many times when I was in my elementary, I walk home. I sometimes found things or money. If I keep them, I lost times 10 of the amount I found. I always tell them also that stealing is one of the mortals sins because it is disobeying the 10 commandments. I also told them the saying "An honest centavo is better than a stolen peso". Rachel read the next paragragh about honesty. She sometimes eat the food that her mother sells withour asking permission. I always tell the children to always tell the truth because you will always be hiding and you will not have peace of mind.

After the lecture, I let them finish the test I gave them last Sunday. It is about temperature reading, adding and subtracting numbers, determining the smallest and the greatest number in the selection, multiplication of 2digit numbers and graph. It was about science, math and english for 10 - 11 yrs old. Lily got the highest score of 44 out of 50 answers. She finished first last Sunday. Rachel finished second and she got a score of 34. The rest finished their test last Sunday. Also the children were the ones who check the test of their fellow scholars. Lily and Rachel acts as their consultant and watchers. Here are the scores of other childrern;

Anna 35, James 23, Dorothy 13, Nikky 13,  Jack 11, Mike 9, Fortune 9, Charles 8, Ava 7.

I observe that children who are silent during the exam, they got the lowest scores. Meaning they are afraid to ask the teacher what the instruction meant. Childrern who ask questions that they cannot understand the English instruction got good scores. Aila was glad to take the test because they had an exam about smallest and greatest numbers and she knows already. It was easy for her to understand. I ask them if they want exams, everybody chorused they love to tae exams. They really want to learn more and I'm glad.

Their snacks were then served. Footlong hotdog in a bun with mayonaise and catsup and cheese. Everybody was hungry by that time to they delighted about their snacks. They put more catsup on their food and said "lami". The children then washed their plates and tumbler then brushed their teeth. Others were still asking for more hotdog but I told them that's all I can serve them, only 1 footlong hotdog each child. During their snacks, the children talked with Mam Shitomi and ask so many questions about her daughter and show them the picture of her daughter, 12 yrs of age.

For our closing prayer, everybody squat on the floor holding hands and sang the “Our Father” prayer.

I bade them goodbye but some stayed in the office playing volleyball, playing badminton outside the office. Mam Shitomi left the office after the session.

3rd  Session – High School

Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Attendance: Ashley, Chloe, Andrew and Kayla.

We started at 1:15pm. We started even though only Ashley and Chloe were present. At 1:45pm, Kayla and Anrew arrived. According to them, it was difficult to get a jeepney ride because there are few and they are all full of passengers. During Sundays, many drivers take their day off to spend quality time with their families.

Our topic was about "Honesty". I let each of them read every page. I ask Ashley and Chloe how honest they are considering they have a store. They admitted they get food from the store and few coins to buy other food and they were giggling because they will be scolded if they ask money from their mothers. Kayla also admitted that she sometimes not return all the change when her mother tell her to buy something. Andrew also doesn't tell the truth when her mother gives him money to buy food, he will go the the internet and play and the money left is small amount to buy food. He was laughing. But he admitted that he loves staying at the shop during summer.

I gave them spelling test 10 items. All of them got below 5 scores! I gave them another test. I wrote RESPECTFUL on the board. In 20 minutes, write as many 4 to 7 letter words you can make from the word. I also joined so that I can present to them what I can do. To have a score, your word should not be present from others who take the test. It will be crushed out. For 4 letter word - 1 point, 5 letter word - 2 points, 6 letter word - 3 points and 7 letter word - 4 points. If you have words not in the dictionary, your score is negative. Chloe scored the highest, 35 points. Kayla and Ashley got the lowest, 3 points. Andrew got 5. They love the test. They crave for more in the next Sundays to come. They will now study the dictionary. They were all poor in spelling. Chloe got the edge in word forming because she loves to read novels.

They are their snacks Footlong bunwich with dressing and cheese. They ate everything up since they are the last one to take their snacks. Everybody helped each other clean up. They brushed their teeth after cleaning. Andrew dedn't help because he was to finish his birthday card for his sponsor.

Kayla lead the closing prayer.

Before anything else, I inspected the childrens’ fingernails and toenails. Everyone has very dirty toenails. Only few have dirty fingernails which they readily washed and brushed their fingernails on the washing area. Fortune brushed her toenails with a used toothbrush that I brought and I presented them to the class. Her toenails looks very clean! If your toenails are brushed individually, it will look very clean. Dorothy used a bigger brush, when I inspected, her toenails are still dirty.

Our topic was about Respect/Concern for Others. I let Joeven read the first page. He doesn’t read well. The next page, I let John Brixter read. He reads well. He followed the correct pronunciation and intonation. Reuelen was telling the class how to be concern to others and respect them. I also told them that they should remember the golden rule “Do unto others what others want to do unto you”. And they listened.

I gave them a test for ages 10-11 so that I will know who are not good in Math. Lily was the first one to pass. The others have not finished. Time was running out, so I decided to let the children finish next Sunday and discuss to them the answers to the questions. They were all excited to take the tests. I was so happy that everybody took the test without hesitation. Of course, I was willing to help them understand the instruction. I gave them tips and technique before and during the tests.

Then they were all excited about their snacks. Sweet corn with margarine and cheese powder toppings. Everybody except Mike love the corn. They all said “lami” meaning delicious. The children then washed their and tumbler then brushed their teeth.

So I started to read again the book and ask for examples from the late comers. Then I let them make a poster for the 2nd session and 3rd afternoon session. Using the cartolina as background, origami papers as their decorative for the scholars’ individual pictures. They looked very colorful and very nice. I will get a picture after it will be finished.

They ate their snacks, boiled sweet corn  with margarine and cheese powder. They were laughing and have their bonding moments during snack time. They took turns in washing the plates they used. Now it was Andrew’s turn to wash. He didn’t mind at all that it was his turn. He accepted the chore happily.

Time: 8:30am – 10:00am

 Attendance: 1) Eric 2) Gabriel 3) Sarah 4)Daniel and 5)Hanna

 Report

We had visitors namely Hiro and Ms. Eiko.

I let Gabriel lead the prayer “Our Father” as our opening prayer.

Hiro introduced himself to the children. His talent was playing the guitar. The children ask him so many questions. They also ask him to perform.

Our topic was about The Alphabet and Story Telling – The Ant and the Grasshopper.

We say the alphabet together and I taught how to pronounce correctly. I let each and everyone read the book, 1 page per scholar. Daniel, Gabriel and Eric needs to read more often because they cannot pronounce well and they stammer when reading. Sarah was just okey. But I was amazed with Hanna because she reads well and straight. I asked her what is her secret that she reads so well? She told everyone that at home, she always read her books. We clapped our hands for Honey. It is a job well done. Afterwards, I let the children write down the alphabet on their notebook, the capital letter and its small letter. Whoever is finished, he or she can eat his or her snack which is everyone’s favorite “spaghetti”. Indeed it was Sarah who finished first, then Eric, next was Hanna and then Daniel. Gabriel was the last one to finish because he has to do his work all over again.

I let Daniel lead the closing prayer. I also performed for them a song playing the guitar. Afterwards, Mr. Kazu took a picture of us with the guests. I thanked Ma. A.M and C.G who helped me prepare their snacks.

At 10:00 the class was dismissed.

Report

We started at exactly 10:30am. Dorothy, Anna and Fortune lead the prayer. We prayed 1 Our Father and 3 Hail Mary and 1 Glory Be of the eternal repose of Rachel’s father.

Hiro introduced himself  to the children. Children asked many questions to Hiro. Again he was asked to perform his talent playing the guitar. He performed for the second time.

Our topic for today was about Cleanliness. We read the book and sight other examples on cleanliness. Everybody was very excited to answer all my questions. I then inspected their nails on their fingers and feet. Majority, their nails are dirty. So I got my nailcutter and let them cut their nails and clean them. I told them to brush their toenails while taking a bath in the morning. I also told them that next Sunday, I will inspect their nails again.

I also asked them how many times they brush their teeth? They answered 2 times. Luckily, they are brushing their teeth in the office during lunch time after eating. If they have no classes and they are in their homes, they forget to brush their teeth. I reminded them to always brush their teeth 3 times a day, every after meals.

Afterwards, I taught them some few dance steps like point the toe, then bend the knee, sway the shoulder and head up. They all were complaining because it was difficult to perform. So I let the girls form a big circle then perform the dance steps I taught them. Then I put some music so that it will be nice to dance. “My toes, my knees, my shoulder, my head”. It was a kindergarten song that made them laugh at the difficult dance steps that I teach them. Next to perform were the boys. Same dancesteps and song. They were now all smiling.

Then they were excited about their snacks. Spaghetti was everyone’s favorite. The mothers who helped us was amazed that I prepared them with no seasonings and catsup. They learned something while helping. Even Mr.Kazu, Hiro and Ms.Eiko ate all their spaghetti. All the children asked for the second round of spaghetti. I understand them because it was 12:00noon, time fior lunch. The children then washed their plates, fork and tumbler then brushed their teeth.

For our closing prayer, everybody squat on the floor and sang the “Our Father” prayer.

We all pose for a picture with Ms. Eiko and Hiro while Mr. Kazu was taking our pictures.

I bade them goodbye but they stayed in the office singing with Hiro, playing touch ball, playing badminton and some are wrestling. They were very happy to play with Mr. Kazu and Hiro.

We then pose with our visitors while Mr. Kazu takes pictures of 5 cameras that flashed in front of us.

At 1:15pm they all went home. Some are being fetched by their parents.

3rd  Session – High School

Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Attendance: Ashley, Chloe, Andrew and Kayla.

(Kayla arrived at 2:30pm because it was raining so hard.)

We started at 2:00pm. Ashley lead the opening prayer “Our Father”.

Hiro introduced himself to the high school scholars. As usual, they ask him questions and got to perform his talent for the 3rd time.

Cleanliness was our topic. I let them read the book about cleanliness. Everybody took turn in reading. Every page, I explained to them why we should observe cleanliness starting with our body. I inspected all their fingernails. Ashley has dirty fingernails. She cut her nails and save them on the opened book but then later, she threw them on the floor. It is very ironic and our visitors were laughing because where is cleanliness there? So I told Ashley to throw the nails to the garbage can. Chloe has long nails and some are dirty. So she decided to cut her fingernails. This time she threw it on the garbage. Andrew has short fingernails because he was biting them. Kayla was also cutting her fingernails because they don’t have a nailcutter in their house. Ms. Eiko donated a body brush that you can use with your nails. Ashlay was using the brush on her skin while listening to me. She commented that she will be whiter if she brushes them on her skin. I corrected her that it will do you no good if you don’t use soap and water. And everybody laughed. When they were finished, Snacks was served. Everybody loved spaghetti!

Kayla lead the closing prayer.

At 3:50pm, the children went home.
